Gerry was born in Rochester, New York. He graduated from McQuaid High School. He attended SUNY College of Forestry and received a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from St. John Fisher College. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in chemistry, Gerry attended St. Bernard's Seminary in Rochester and received a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Theology. After working for three years as a drug counselor in the methadone maintenance program at the University of Rochester, School of Medicine and Dentistry, Department of Psychology, he entered law school and obtained his Juris Doctor from Albany Law School of Union University, Albany, New York in 1980.
Upon graduating from law school, Gerry practiced law in Westfield, NY from 1980-1987 where he also served as the attorney for both the Town of Westfield and the Village of Westfield. Upon moving back to Rochester in 1987, Gerry served as the Deputy Town Attorney for Greece, NY from 1989-1995 and the Town Attorney for Greece from 1995-1998.
From 1980-1998 Gerry maintained an active general practice in law firms in Westfield, NY and Rochester, NY. He relocated to Rochester, NY to practice law. Gerry served as Corporate Counsel for Harbec, Inc. and Optimax Systems, Inc. from 1991-2012. He joined Bansbach Law P.C. in 2012.
Gerry and his wife reside in Greece, New York.
